Like a little kid waking up for Christmas morning I’ve been watching numerous cycling races by the pro’s thinking some day I can ride like them.  Na, not really!  I know that will never happen but what will is the enjoyment of the ride where ever it takes me.  This week saw 83.5 miles added for a total of 4,391. On my long ride this week I ventured back to an old route from my running days.  A stop at the Tibet-Butler Nature Preserve has always been one of my favorites.  It has plenty of trails when you want to get off the bike, the Vera Carter Environmental Center and numerous well signed nature trails.  Also been working on better riding nutrition and already seeing the results.  I plan on making it through my upcoming group 78 mile ride without “Bonking” at mile 74 like the last ride.  In cycling terms that means ‘running out of energy or hitting the wall’. Yikes, not fun.
